A MONFALCONE NEL 2025 LA GRANDE VELA INTERNAZIONALE CON IL CAMPIONATO DEL MONDO ORC DOUBLE HANDED
 
Monfalcone (Gorizia), 29 Agosto 2024 – Grande soddisfazione per lo Yacht Club Monfalcone e per tutto il territorio del Comune di Monfalcone a seguito dell’assegnazione dell’organizzazione del Campionato del Mondo di vela 2025 per la categoria ORC double handed (equipaggi composti da solo due persone).

Per la prima volta nella lunga storia dello Yacht Club Monfalcone già Yacht Club Hannibal, un Campionato del Mondo di vela si svolgerà a Monfalcone e vedrà presenti i migliori team nazionali e internazionali per questa recente formula “a compenso” e con equipaggio ridotto a due persone. Una format che da qualche anno è nel mirino dello stesso CIO (Comitato Olimpico Internazionale) per entrare come possibile classe olimpica in futuro.

L’evento è stato assegnato dal board dell’ORC (Offshore Racing Congress) e da World Sailing (la Federazione mondiale della vela)  a Monfalcone dopo i riconosciuti successi organizzativi nelle passate stagioni con due edizioni dei Campionati Italiani di Vela d’Altura  (2017 e 2022) in cui il Club e tutto il suo staff, unitamente alle sinergie costruite con il Comune di Monfalcone e le diverse anime del territorio, hanno dato prova di condurre al meglio eventi importanti sia sotto il profilo numerico che qualitativo.

La sfida dell’ ORC DH World Championship 2025 è in programma per la seconda metà di settembre e sarà preceduto nel corso di tutta la stagione 2025 da una serie di appuntamenti di avvicinamento in Adriatico con il già noto NARC (North Adriatic Rating Circuit) che aggiungerà la categoria DH.

Monfalcone (Gorizia), 26 August 2024 – Great satisfaction for Yacht Club Monfalcone and for the entire territory of the Municipality of Monfalcone following the assignment of the organization of the 2025 ORC DH (double-handed) World Championship.

For the first time in the long history of Yacht Club Monfalcone, formerly Yacht Club Hannibal, a World Championship will take place in Monfalcone and will see the best national and international teams competing. The DH is a format that has been in the sights of the IOC (International Olympic Committee) for some years to enter as a possible Olympic class in the future.

The event was assigned by the board of the ORC (Offshore Racing Congress) and by World Sailing (the World Sailing Federation) to Monfalcone after the recognized organizational successes in past seasons with two editions of the ORC Italian Championships (2017 and 2022) in which the Club and all its staff, together with the synergies built with the Municipality of Monfalcone and the different souls of the territory, have proven to best conduct important events both from a numerical and qualitative point of view.

The 2025 ORC DH World Championship challenge is scheduled for the second half of September and will be preceded throughout the 2025 season by a series of preparatory events in the Adriatic with the already well-known NARC (North Adriatic Rating Circuit) which will add the DH category.
